Co-founder of Somerset Karate.

Sempai Kevin Parkes, 2nd Dan

Started training in 1994 in Shepton Mallet under Sempai Ian Barham. Subsequently trained in Yeovil under Shihan Ian Stoddern.

Awarded black belt in 1998.

Responsible for WMAF(GB)'s Radstock club from its opening in 1997.

Assumed joint responsibility for WMAF(GB)'s Yeovil club in 2001.

Co-founder of Somerset Karate.


Allan Osborne

Started training in 1998 in Yeovil under Shihan Ian Stoddern. Subsequently trained under Sempai Parkes, Scoble and Coleman.

Awarded black belt in 2003.

One of the first two students awarded black belt by Somerset Karate.


Sue Coleman

Started training in 1997 in Yeovil under Shihan Ian Stoddern.

Awarded black belt in 2001.

Formulated WMAF(GB)'s "Chop-A-Dile" (under 7s) program.

Assumed joint responsibility for WMAF(GB)'s Yeovil club in 2001.

Co-founder of Somerset Karate.

Moved from the area and left Somerset Karate in July 2004.
